Fine beach sand blows up off the shore and sits on the glass all summer, and the spray off Georgian Bay dries into a mineral haze on top of it. A cloth across that is a sheet of sandpaper. The order matters more than the product.
Pure water off the pole carries the sand off the pane before any brush or cloth goes near it. Nothing gets dragged across dry glass.
Deionized water lifts the spray film and dries with nothing left behind, so there is no residue for the next week of sand to bond to.
Screens hold more sand than the glass does. Washing the pane and leaving the screen in is how a window is hazy again by the weekend.

We can clean on a turnover schedule between bookings so the place shows well in listing photos. Give us the calendar and we work around the guest changeovers. Owners on the main strip and Shore Lane usually book us monthly through July and August.

Two things the rest of Simcoe County does not deal with the same way. Fine sand blows up off the beach and etches into the glass over a season, and the constant spray off Georgian Bay dries into a mineral haze. A regular wipe just grinds the sand across the surface. We rinse the sand off first with the pure-water pole before any brush touches the glass, then clean, so nothing scratches. Heavily hazed glass that has gone a few summers gets the hard-water treatment.
A standard year-round home off Sunnidale or in the Wasaga Sands area runs $350 to $450 inside and out. Seasonal cottages near the beach are usually smaller, $200 to $350 depending on glass count. Larger newer builds and the homes along the Nottawasaga River with walls of glass facing the water run $450 and up. We always quote before we start.
That is one of our busiest Wasaga jobs in September. After Labour Day the strip empties out, the summer sand and salt-spray film is at its worst, and people want the place clean before they shut it for the season. Book the closing clean early because the second half of September fills up fast with cottage owners doing the same thing.
